Toobin on Obama says it all

Today on The Situation Room (made palatable by the absence of Wolf Blitzer, with John Roberts replacing him) -- Jeffrey Toobin had the last word. He turned to a fellow panel-member and said,

I'm old enough to remember when Barack Obama was a Democrat.

Ha! I'd suspected Obama was more comfortable to the right of most of his supporters. Whether that is his true philosophical center or it's that he's cultivated a chameleonic persona to fit every occasion, I surely don't know.

I must check in on Obama Shrine West -- DKos -- to see how much Koolaid they're guzzling in the attempt to drown out their misgivings.

It's sort of like Linus waiting for the Great Pumpkin to rise out of the most sincere pumpkin patch. One tiny doubt, one tiny "if" is enough to put the kibosh on the whole thing, with nothing left but to try harder next year. DKos is filled with Linuses.
