Richard Eskow is a superb strategic thinker
I've said it before, and I'll say it again -- he is possessed of an awesome intellect!
When I am most in despair, RJ always manages to give me hope, bring me out of my funk, make me re-think and re-frame issues.
And he's a great phrase-maker besides. Here, in a Night Light post manifesting all the qualities enumerated above (be sure to follow the links to the earlier posts he references), he comes up with a singing campaign phrase for Obama:
Neither left or right, but up!
Now that's a bumper sticker I'd display with pride.

It IS a slogan with some appeal.
But NOT original. About 25 years ago I read a book with the same idea - "Upwingers" by FM Esfandiary.
I just googled it (to refresh my memory of the authors name) and there are even discussion sites devoted to the topic.

Thanks for that, Rich. Interesting. I suppose there's nothing entirely original under the sun.
I'll stand by my observation that RJ is a great phrase-maker. He's a terrific writer. So please click through and read his stuff!
Cheers,
